Te Akoranga Kutihipi is a free competency based course for all novice and junior grade shearers.

 

The course includes:

  • 1 on 1 shearing instructing

  • Shearing gear maintenance

  • Health and Nutrition

  • Financial Literacy & Employment

  • Karakia and te reo Māori

 

Participants will receive:

  • Lister shearing singlet

  • Drink bottle

  • Morning tea and lunch

 

 

All participants will need to wear appropriate shearing clothes and if possible, provide shearing gear. Some shearing equipment will be provided.

Following the day, course participants are able to enter the novice grade at the waimarino shears Saturday 16 March and receive:

  • Free competition entry

  • Hangi lunch

  • Access to the novice competitors village where the course facilitators will provide on the day preparation and tuition.

 

 

This year, the course is capped at 40 participants and registrations will close on Friday 8 March, 5pm.
